The Goldcrest

is Britain’s lightest bird
at four to five grams,
half that of a wren;
and according to scientists,
the same weight as a soul.

The Goldcrest (Regulus regulus) is a passerine (perching) bird in the kinglet family.
The scientific name Regulidae is derived from the Latin word regulus for "petty king" or prince, and comes from the coloured crowns of adult birds. (Pic credit Wikipedia)
An exquisite thing.
